AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF SUICIDOLOGY CERTIFICATION |
| In October of 2003, Teen
Lifeline was honored with certification from the American Association of
Suicidology (AAS), making the hotline the first peer counseling crisis line
in the nation to become certified.
Certification signifies that an organization has been evaluated
during a site survey and other procedures, and has met or exceeded
specific standards in the following areas: administration, training,
general service delivery, services in life-threatening crisis, ethical
issues, community integration and program evaluation.

THE LAUREL AWARD |
| After five months of independent operation as a nonprofit organization, Teen Lifeline received the Laurel Award from St. Luke's Charitable Health Trust. The award honors small nonprofits who promote excellence in community health by providing for the needs of the disadvantaged, under-represented and less fortunate populations in the face of adversity. This award reinforces the credo of our mission statement while strengthening our commitment to preventing teen suicide. The award also identifies Teen Lifeline as one of 10 agencies in the year 2000 representing the "very best in local, grassroots organizations". |
| PRESIDENT'S STUDENT SERVICE AWARD |

In only a year's time, 59 of Teen Lifeline's volunteers have earned the President's Student Service Award. The President's Student Service Awards are White House initiatives. All full time students who contribute at least 100 hours of service to the community are eligible for the Gold Award. Silver Award recipients have contributed more than 50 hours. President George W. Bush himself signs the awards, and the volunteers being honored receive a United States Commemorative pin. |
